SUPR: What does your morning routine look like?
BB: I think creating a morning routine that sets you up for success and gets your mindset right in the morning is so important. When I'm consistently taking the time to do my morning routine I'm happier, less anxious and more motivated and productive all day long.
First things first when I wake up, I go right to my coffee maker and make a coffee with a splash of almond milk and then I'll also chug a glass of water. Then I do a guided meditation (this is something I've recently gotten into and love it!). Then I will journal and either do the morning pages, which is essentially a brain dump, or a journal prompt or a gratitude list.
After that I do one of my BBFIT online studio workout classes. My favourite are the cardio Pilates because I always feel so accomplished and have so many mood boosting endorphins after. Then I shower, do my skincare routine and after all that I'll start working and check my phone etc. I used to check my phone first thing and by leaving it on airplane mode until I've finished my morning routine, it's made the biggest difference!
SUPR: What does ‘health’ mean to you?
BB: To me health is taking care of yourself, mind, body and spirit. I really prioritise feeling good, and I know when I'm moving my body in a way I enjoy, eating foods I love and indulging mindfully, that's when I feel my absolute best. I used to spend hours every day in the gym and be obsessed with dieting, and sure I had abs, but I was also miserable. It's when I started working more on the mindset and doing everything from a place of love such as exercising in a way that made me feel energised and not beat-up after, eating healthy most of the time, but still having a skinny margarita and a side of tacos when I want them! I became more grateful for my body and all it can do. I think you need to find what works for you to feel YOUR personal best each day and stick to that for longterm health.
SUPR: 3. What are five things you’ll always have in your fridge / pantry?
BB: Eggs, Veggies, Avocado, Lemons and Peanut Butter.
SUPR: What’s your favourite form of movement?
BB: My BBFIT workouts for sure! I am a Pilates and Barre instructor, but have also worked as a PT and done a Boxing certification. I created BBFIT to be a mix of all of those. I absolutely LOVE the burn you get from Barre and Pilates and love the long, lean, sculpted muscles they create. I also love a good HIIT workout and some heart pumping cardio. Thats why in my classes I have a mix of both styles of workout. Always fun and effective and done in under 45 minutes. I always feel so good after.
SUPR: If you could live anywhere in the world, where would it be and why?
BB: Being from Canada, living in Bondi Beach is pretty amazing, I have to say! I would love to live in LA for a bit because it's similar to Sydney in terms of weather, lifestyle, healthiness, but closer to home. I also lived in Hong Kong before Sydney and it's a place I'd love to spend some more time. It's such an electric city and like a tropical New York. Can I chose all three?!
SUPR: What quote do you live by?
BB: Green juice now, champagne later! I've always loved that one. Life's too short to not drink the champagne or eat the pizza, you know?
SUPR: Share a fun fact that people wouldn’t know about you?
BB: I do a reaaally good Britney Spears singing impersonation. I don't do it for many people, but if you ask nicely... ;)
