THE WELLNESS FESTIVAL

What do you get when you have a bunch of coconuts, five exceptional speakers and one concrete jungle? The Wellness Festival!

Hosted by Colour and Coconuts, The Wellness Festival set out to be a place of inspiration in health and wellness, business and, well, coconuts! Not only did their five gorgeous speakers treat us to exceptional talks, we also got to immerse ourselves in health and wellness at the Market Place. Surrounded by the likes of Bondi Yoga House, Dusty Makeup, Loco Love Artisan Chocolate and VEJOES burgers, there was never a minute wasted.

With our organic Kogi Coffee or young coconut in hand we were ready to get started! The Festival was hosted by Laura Dundovic and was kicked off with a medi (meditation) by Melissa Ambrosini. We started the day my mastering our mean girl and learnt the power of positive thinking… and actions! STYLERUNNER CEO, Julie Stevanja, was up next to tell us how and why our favourite online hub of activewear came to life. Oh and the power of gratitude on Friday morning!

Jacqueline Alwill, Nutritionist and founder of Brown Paper Bag Nutrition, taught us a thing or two about our intrinsic (enteric) nervous system (yeah – it was new to us too!) and the impact stress can have on our otherwise happy bods and hormones.

The little pocket-rocket that is Sarah Holloway, founder of Matcha Maiden, brought a down-to-earth nature to her talk and I’m sure we all went away wishing she were our best friend! Despite practicing law, Sarah saw an opportunity to tap into one of the biggest markets today – matcha! And we are so grateful that she did.

We ended the day with a Q&A with Nutritionist and health blogger, Jessica Sepel, where we got a little insight into what’s next for JSHealth. Hello healthy, luscious hair!

In between talks the Base Body Babes took us through out paces with a Sweat Session that definitely didn’t fall short of our expectations… I think I’m still trying to catch my breath. Dubbed the Coachella of the health world, The Wellness Festival definitely lived up to the hype. See you in 2017!
